Pinned topic How to automate initial node configuration (ASU Tool, ssh)

‏2013-04-18T19:22:43Z |

Hi,

we have 2 Flex Systems, each with 6 x240 nodes. I want to automate the initial configuration process of new nodes and I'm already able to use the IBM ASU tool to set some configuration settings (boot order etc). But it seems not to be possible to configure the IMM network settings via ASU and CMM - but this is neccessary for the ASU batch script. IBM support told me that I should use ssh for network settings. There are other settings that can be only set via ssh too. So I've now a powercli script that first uses ssh and then ASU tool to configure a new node.

That feels wrong. Is there no way to use just one tool for a scripted configuration?

Do you tried IBM FastSetup v2.00 ?

No, I didn't know this tool. Even IBM support seemsto have no information about it, because I asked them what I could use instead of ASU/SSH. I'll have a look. Thanks!
