Pinned topic Installing IBM Java 7 on Ubuntu 12.04

I'm installing IBM Java 7 on Ubuntu 12.04 using the InstallAnywhere package (ibm-java-x86_64-sdk-7.0-5.0.bin) and I get the following error:

Command.run(): Cannot run program "rpm": java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory

Once I install the "rpm" package the install is successfull. Is the "rpm" package really necessary to install IBM Java 7? Or did I forget to set some option, etc.?
