Pinned topic Need help to take system backup (like mksysb in AIX) for Linux on Power

‏2014-01-08T11:16:36Z |

Hi Guys..

One of our customer is running LOP (REDHAT Ver 5), running Oracle RAC over it.. Since past 4 years they have not taken any system backup & are not aware of ways to take system backup in case they need to restore their OS if they experience crash.

I tried searching on net but could not find anything... Pls suggest if there is any OS tool within redhat or is there any third party tool that they need to use to take the system backup..

Regards

Gaurav

    Gaurav,

Storix has mksysb like solutions for native Linux as well as Power on Linux, as well as AIX and other OS's.  I have not tested the current Storix solution, so be sure to get a trial copy and test it thoroughly before recommending to client.  30 day trials are available for download from the link below.

Storix has also produced a video on You Tube for Power Linux bare metal recovery.
