Pinned topic <Solved> Not able to add a new NSD into a file system

‏2013-09-26T03:38:11Z |

Today I got a request to add additional space into a gpfs file system. I assigned a LUN to the servers and created an NSD.

When I ran mmadddisk /dev/FS NSD::::1 it throws the following error:

mmadddisk: Failed to collect required file system attributes.
mmadddisk: 6027-1639 Command failed.  Examine previous error messages to determine cause.

I double check and LUN was assigned to all the quorum nodes.

What is the issue ?

After lots of troubleshooting I found that file system management role was taken by a non-quorum node.

I changed it to right quorum node by below command:

    mmchmgr /dev/FS quorum_node

then I ran mmadddisk command and it was successful
