Pinned topic How to cache DB connection in WTX

‏2019-05-16T04:58:59Z |

Hi,

I am a beginner in IBM WTX/ITX and am currently using version 9.0.0.3 Wanted to understand how can we optimize connection to DB and make sure the connection isn't established every time we make a call to the DB tables.

Currently we pass the DB connection string as a parameter within the DBLOOKUP query, but everytime a DB call is made the connection re-established and actually effects performance. Please suggest how the connection can be cached?

Thank you.

The Resource Manager will compare connection strings, and if it was used previously (and in the same transaction scope) it will be re-used automatically.

Various factors affect this, such as settings in the dtx.ini file for Keep/Idle.

    Thank you.

    Thank You Paul.

Can you please elaborate more on the setting which needs to be done on the dtx.ini file to ensure the DB connection and any setting which needs to be done on the map.

    Regards

The topic is too complicated for the forum, and it would be better if you posted an example (that is not currently working to your satisfaction) then perhaps I (or other contributing members of the forum) could give some insight as to why.

    Thank you.
