Pinned topic Version 10.5 clients and drivers

‏2013-09-05T18:43:39Z |

The drivers and clients for DB2 10.5 are documented in technical article 1385217: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21385217

==========

We've had a number of clients respond through feedback to our technical documents indicating that they have further questions or comments that require additional dialogue.  Unfortunately, our feedback is anonymous, so unless an email address or other contact information is included, we have no way to get back in touch with you.

Within DB2 support, the management team asked if we could somehow link our documents to the forums so that we could invite more discussion - like this!   As a start, we chose about 30 technical articles and "seeded" the forum with initial entries so that we could have a starting place for conversation.  The documents have now been updated with links to the forums as well.

Hopefully, we will make DB2 support better by providing more interaction around our technical information!

    Managed to get access to an old windows2003 fixpack2 server to test the Data Server Client for ODBC and CLI. This machine is in the same network as the mainframe so I wanted to test the "personal connect" capabilities which this client is suppose to have.

    Got confronted with a "GetTickCount64 could not be located in KERNEL32.dll" error. At 1st sight I thought it was a 32 vs 64 bit version error but after consulting google I learned it is an API to obtain the uptime, introduced in windows vista.

    Is this intended IBM? Is win2003FP2 too old for the 10.5 drivers?

    Hello,

     Installation requirements for DB2 database servers and IBM data server clients (Windows) are outlined here:

    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v10r5/topic/com.ibm.db2.luw.qb.server.doc/doc/r0006867.html

    Windows 2003 is not listed as a supported operating system for V10.5. That could be the root cause of the error.

    DB2 V10.1 is supported with Windows 2003.

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/prodguid/v1r0/clarity-reports/report/html/softwareReqsForProduct?deliverableId=AA738AA0C5EF11E18183F12B0925FE36&osPlatform=Windows

    You can download V10.1 from here:

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24037466

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!
