In a presentation for the launch of the V7000 V2, I recall reading that the new V7000 now has 3 SAS Chains, as opposed to 2 in the previous version. In the presentation it mentioned that the Controller pair is now on Chain zero (instead of chain 2), with all expansion controllers being on Chains 1 and 2. Because of this, all SSDs should be installed on the control enclosure due to the dedicated SAS bandwidth this provides.
I have been trying to find another source to confirm if this is indeed the new best practice going forward. I have not had much luck. Does anyone have any information on this?
