Pinned topic Unable to export DOORS project using migration package

‏2017-01-04T14:23:12Z |

Hi,

I have a DOORS project (D_Project) which has around 40 folders and 56 modules. When I am trying to export it using migration package, it is taking around 4 hours and then giving the below errors.

Error 1: (There are no locks in any of the module)

----------------------------------------------

Could not export module <Module_Name> - Exception when exporting attribute information (rifExportAttrInfo).

Module: <Module_Name>

Details: Lock request timed out

ReqIF exception in exportAttrInfo - failed to export attribute definition Unknown

-------------------------------------------------

Error 2: (After I removed the above module and tried to export again)

-----------------------------------------------

Could not export module <Module_Name2> - Exception when exporting objects (rifExportObjects)

Module: <Module_Name2>

Details: Can't open attribute map file for write

------------------------------------------------

Other projects are easily migrated using migration package.

Another thing to point out is I am able to export 'D_Project' using ReqIF. However, we do not have to use ReqIF. We have to use migration package only.

Can anyone guide on how these errors can be resolved?

    Can you archive the project?

Can you send this archive to DOORS support for further investigation?

I had a very similar problem with the same error message Exception when exporting objects (rifExportObjects).

The solution for me was to 1) add module access for the "eXchange" service add-on. 2) open the module being migrated in exclusive edit mode and then do the migration. What seems odd to me is that ReqIf is suppose to be built in to DOORS 9.6 and not have to be dependent upon the "eXchange" service add-on being available.
