Pinned topic test connection after configuring QCF

‏2017-02-16T12:38:06Z | connection qcf test

hi, I'm looking at WAS ND 8.5.5.x KC, and it says that there are basically two steps when adding QCF for WMQ messaging provider by means of console, "creating" that allows defining basic properties, and provides "Test connection" feature, and "configuring" that allows setting some additional features of connection (such as SSL usage, for example), but it doesn't provide "Test connection" feature. Do I understand that properly that in that version there is no way then to test connection via console (besides restarting server and deploying some application that uses that QCF, and looking at how that works) after fully configuring QCF? I checked what's new in v9 but it doesn't mention any enhancement regarding that behaviour.

There is no way to test a QCF since MQ providers do not provide a connection feature like a database.  The only way to test the QCF is to try it out with an application.

The point that I resent is that WAS console actually provides "Test connection" feature, but only as a part of  "creating QCF" wizard. That's why I opened this RFE: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=100985

In case you think that would be useful feature, vote for it please. Thank you.
