    Hello,

this we do very often,e.g to update SAMP. First set Automation to Manual: "samctrl -M T". Then change Critical Resource Protection to prevent unwanted reboots with "chrsrc -c IBM.PeerNode CritRsrcProtMethod=5". Normally this value is set to 1. To Check this enter: "lsrsrc -c IBM.PeerNode". Now you can stop Domain but you must use the Force parameter: "stoprpdomain -f domainname". After your work you can start the Domain with "startrpdomain domainname", set Automation back to Auto: "samctrl -M F" and set the Critical Resource Protection back to the value adjusted before: "chrsrc -c IBM.PeerNode CritRsrcProtMethod=# (# maybe 1)"

    regards

Thank you so much for the response. Is their anyway to know if the Domain is in Manual Mode after i stop domain?

It helps to alert if some one leave domain in Manual mode after we are done with maintanace. Any thoughts please

    Hello,

there is no way to display the 'Manual Mode' setting for a domain, that is Offline. However, this setting is only effective if the domain is Online, so you can establish a check procedure for the user that starts the domain, to not only check the domain status (lsrpdomain), but also the 'Manual Mode' after the domain is Online (# lssamctrl | grep Automation), and let him know, how to adjust.

    Regards,
