Pinned topic Why Do RHEL LVM Partitions Not Sized At The Complete Size

‏2013-05-23T22:29:03Z |

I've been deploying machines in two different fashions using TPMfOSd/I 7.1.1.12.  I deploy using a scripted install methodology and via a capture process.  In both cases, my filesystems are not carved out the way I defined them in the GUI.  For example, in the gui, I define /tmp to be 4 GB but I instead get a littel bit under 4 Gb (3.98 Gb).  If I build it off DVD, I get the "full" 4 Gb defined.   Even if I restore an image that was built from DVD, I still get smaller filesystems.

Why is this the case?  Is there a way around this?

Thanks,

Nelson

Is there a better way to get an answer on this?  I'd hate to have to open a trouble ticket just to get an answer to a simple question :)
