Pinned topic SQL Server JDBC Datasource Connection in Cognos 10.2.1

‏2013-09-13T20:59:36Z |

Hi,

I am trying to setup Cognos Samples on Cognos 10.2.1 64 bit installation with help of steps mentioned in http://www.cognossource.com/installing-ibm-cognos-samples/.

I am running in to error while testing configured jdbc connection, I am using IBM Cognos software service credentials authentication.  SQL 2008 Native Client connection is working fine.

But when I tried to JDBC connection in Cognos Administration, it fails with "DPR-ERR-2059 The requested service has been stopped. The request cannot be completed."

Following releated log entries from cogserver.log

This is test installation with all components on same machine.

Please let me know if you have any idea/pointer to what causing this issue.

Thanks,

Sachin.

I enabled logging for query service and following is the soap fault message I see in log,

messages><message><messageString>CM-REQ-4342 An error occurred with the client.</messageString></message><message><messageString>AAA-AUT-0013 The user is already authenticated in all available namespaces.</messageString></message></messages>    http://www.ibm.com/xmlns/prod/cognos/contentManagerService/201301/CM-REQ-4159 Content Manager returned an error in the response header. The error "cmAuthenticateFailed CM-CAM-4005 Unable to authenticate. Check your security directory server connection and confirm the credentials entered at login." can be found in the response SOAP header.

<SOAP-ENV:Fault xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">             <faultcode>Client</faultcode>             <faultstring>CM-REQ-4342 An error occurred with the client.</faultstring>             <detail>                 <bus:exception xmlns:bus="http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/bibus/3/">                     <severity>error</severity>                     <errorCode>cmHeaderFault</errorCode>                     <bus:message>                         <messageString>CM-REQ-4159 Content Manager returned an error in the response header. Agree with Vijay. If you are passing the Cognos service credentials to MSSQL then you need to follow the steps in the linked article. Note, when I did this I found I could not use spaces in the paths on steps 6 and 7. I copied the sqljdbc_auth.dll file to a folder like c:\sqljdbc since my Cognos install path had spaces in it. Modify the paths in the properties file accordingly
