Pinned topic BC S SAS RAID module after replacement storage subsystem went offline

‏2014-03-21T08:38:09Z |

Hello everyone,

After replacement of both SAS RAID Controller Modules we have the following situation: all disks in internal storage except the global spare went offline or into service mount state. The disks are reported to be stale group members(SGR). There are a lot of alerts related to storage subsystem on both controllers including:

Drive group GRP1 is offline due to one or more missing drives.

No viable drive groups available in system

Drive group GRP2 disorderly dismount occurred.

Drive group GRP1 disorderly dismount occurred.

Some logs are enclosed below:

Is there any possibility to get disk subsystem back online?

Or restoration from backup is the only thing that is left?

Any contribution and ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming you followed the instructions on page 163 of the user guide?

    http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/systems/support/system_x_pdf/00ak718.pdf

Try looking at that.  If you are still having issues, you will probably have to call IBM support.
