I need to rebuild the system disk of an IBM Server (Format to blank new).  After the install of the window Server OS, do I need to do anything before the Server could recognize  the disk created in the DS3200? (No hardware change, only OS reinstall

You need to install the multipath driver, and maybe the SAS HBA driver depending on Windows comes with it or not.

If its a single controller DS3200 you dont need the multipath driver.

Thank for your advise.  It is a single controller DS3200.  I would like to clarify :

      1. For the OS  related, only SAS HBA driver need to take care

      2. I need not use the IBM DS Storage Manager to change any setting to let the new installed server to recognize the logical disk in DS3200.

If we are talking about a new new server, and not just a new Windows installation, you need the storage manager to change the host object on the DS3200 with the new HBA WWN number.

If its the same HBA you dont need to do anything to the DS3200 config.
