Pinned topic Attachment "Streaming" mode and size restrictions

‏2013-08-07T05:08:14Z |

Hi,

in order to be able to handle large binary attachments in our MPGW policy, I configured the object to utilize the attachment streaming mode.

Everything works fine (using no-xml-processing rules for the attachment).

But it seems that the side effect of using the attachment streaming mode is, that the attachment-byte-count restriction does no longer apply. The max-message-size is used for all parts for the message instead - even the non-xml parts.

This is highly unfortunate, because we definitly want to restrict the root XML part of the messages (because those are processed in the datapower and not just streamed through it), but want to allow much larger attachments (for instance 16 Mbytes for the root part, up to 2 GBytes for the attachments).

It there any way to achieve this with the current (we're using 5.0.0.5 on XS-40, XI-50, XG-45 and XI-52 devices) firmware releases?

Regards,

Sascha

    Anyone?

    Hi Sascha,

    did you try "attachment-package-byte-count", too?
It may be the case that both do not work in streaming mode.

I cannot check, no access to IBM Intranet and my DataPower boxes the next two weeks, only slow Internet Terminal at DJH List/Sylt.

I will look into this when I am back, would be nice to get a reminder email from you.

    Hermann.

    Hi Hermann,

I hope you had a nice vacation in Sylt.

Could you please look into this?

    Thanks!

    Sascha
