Pinned topic AMM firmware upgrade - failed?

Hi,

I upgraded the firmware of an AMM card with the version BPET62P, on a BladeCenter-S, I waited until I recevied the firmware update successful message, then I restarted the module.

Now I cannot connect to it. The old IP address is not responding, 192.168.70.125 also, and there is no DHCP in the network.

What could have happened? It's the second time this happened to me!

    First, I would not use 62P.  Or 62R, Or 62 anything.  Get 64G here:

    Are there any lights on the AMM?  If the green light is not lit, the AMM is toast.  If the green and amber are lit, you may be able to fix it.  If the green light is lit, you most certainly can recover.  If there are no lights, replace it.  

    For the other scenarios, direct connect a laptop to the AMM.  You can use a normal patch cable.  See if you can ping it directly that way.  You may need to reset it.  If you cannot ping it, try the default address of 192.168.70.125.  Hopefully, you are now logged in and you can flash the 64G directly connected to the AMM.  

    You may have to reconfigure the IP address or see if there are system bus timeouts.  

    Good luck. Let me know the results.

    Connected the AMM directly to a PC - works! This is strange, because it used to work on that switch without any problem until I did the firmware upgrade!

    I also have to make a correction, the firmware version that I installed is BPET62R. That version works on many other chassis without problems however..

    It has several issues with bus and AMM hangs.  You should consider going to 64G.  If you don't want to do that, then I would strongly suggest you upgrade to the new AMM code that will drop in the 4th quarter.

    Check your switch port settings.  Try coding the port to 100/full.  The AMM cannot connect at or support 1GB connections.
