I have the following issue with Data Studio 3.2 (and Data Studio 3.1.1). I cannot seem to create a new Web Service. I receive the following error message when doing a Build and Deploy Operation when it builds the run time files (see attached file). It generates a Java null pointer exception.
This is a simple Web Service with a "select" statement. The statement runs successfully in the editor. This is within a project that was created from scratch.
The server is WASCE 2.1. The server starts/stops and runs successfully within Data Studio 3.2. I understand Data Studio 3.2 is the last release supporting WASCE.
This problem originally occurred in Data Studio 3.1.1. I upgraded DS 3.1.1 to DS 3.2 thinking this may resolve the issue, however it still remains (I did not do a remove of DS 3.1.1 and then a fresh install of DS 3.2, just an in place upgrade of DS 3.1.1 to DS 3.2 via Install Manager).
Interestingly 2 web service project containing several SP and SQL statement operations that were created back with Data Studio 2.2, can be modified, with new operations added, removed etc and they Build and Deploy fine. I looked at the generated files and do not see anything obviously corrupt or missing (the Build and Deploy of these existing projects works in DS 3.1.1 and in DS 3.2).
Not sure where to go from here.
Installed a new copy of DS 3.2 into a new package group. It requires a new server adapter. WHen I select download new server adapters I get a list of them (Geronimo, Glassfish, WASCE). I select WASCE 2.1 and then I receive this failure:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: WASCE v2.1 Server Adapter 2.1.8 (com.ibm.wasce.v21.feature.feature.group 2.1.8)
Missing requirement: WASCE v2.1 Server Adapter 2.1.8 (com.ibm.wasce.v21.feature.feature.group 2.1.8) requires 'org.eclipse.jst.server_ui.feature.feature.group 2.0.2.v200802150100-77-CT9yJXEkuiKVeQrclqTHQ3648' but it could not be found
Are there instructions somewhere on how to install this, or how to make the product actually usable?
