Pinned topic Java applet - security and protocol - CRC check?

‏2013-09-12T12:22:44Z |

When choosing to use the "Advanced File Transfer" option for either large file handling or to allow pause/resume functionality, what sort of encryption and protocol are being used?

  1. Does the java applet use the same SSL certificate(s) as identified on the SSL tab in the configuration?
  2. Does it continue to use the HTTP protocol or does it switch to something like UDP in order to more efficiently transfer large files?
  3. Does the applet do any sort of CRC or checksum to ensure the transfer is bit-accurate on either the upload, dowload, or both?

Thanks!

    1. Yes.  If you logon to the Web UI with SSL, the applet will connect to the QuickFile with SSL and the same server certificate will be used.
    2. It continues with HTTP but uses a different way to download a file which can be paused/resumed.
    3. No.

Thanks, Scott, that's a big help.
