Pinned topic ODBC driver for IBM i

‏2019-08-22T13:04:06Z | driver for i ibm odbc

I want test the new ODBC driver for IBM i.
I was using the description from
http://ibmsystemsmag.com/IT-Strategy/08/2019/ODBC-Driver-for-IBM-i?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=082019-Power-EXTRA%20(1)%20Live%20Send&utm_content=The%20New%20ODBC%20Driver%20for%20IBM%20i(1)&spMailingID=16147868&spUserID=MTMzMTk5NTUwNTQzS0&spJobID=1701340413&spReportId=MTcwMTM0MDQxMwS2

installation of all parts was successful.

but few questions still exists:

the config-files (odbc.ini, odbcinst.ini) are in /QOpenSys/etc
is this correct ? (the path is missing in the documentation)

what is to do if I want access from IBM i to a MS-SQL-Server?

exists an example or documentation for the config-files?

and where can I download the correct odbc-driver from microsoft
which is matching with the correct version?

Our IBM i is on V7R3M0 (with all group-ptf installed)

In QSH
uname -r
output is 3

Can anybody help ?

regards mike

    found the reason:

odbc driver for linux from microsoft did not work on iSeries because the linux drivers are not compiled for power-pc.
