Pinned topic Error SQL30082N with reason 24 when using LDAP

‏2013-09-05T18:25:21Z |
Error SQL30082N Security processing fails with reason 24 when using LDAP plug-ins is covered in technical article 1327771: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21327771

We've had a number of clients respond through feedback to our technical documents indicating that they have further questions or comments that require additional dialogue.  Unfortunately, our feedback is anonymous, so unless an email address or other contact information is included, we have no way to get back in touch with you.

Within DB2 support, the management team asked if we could somehow link our documents to the forums so that we could invite more discussion - like this!   As a start, we chose about 30 technical articles and "seeded" the forum with initial entries so that we could have a starting place for conversation.  The documents have now been updated with links to the forums as well.

Hopefully, we will make DB2 support better by providing more interaction around our technical information!

I get a SQL30082N with reason 24, SQLSTATE=08001 when trying to connect to the database.

I am only using GROUP_PLUGIN = IBMLDAPgroups, not client nor server plugins..

    db2diag.log shows:

    EDUID   : 7248                 EDUNAME: db2agent (LBQMFDB)
FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, bsu security, sqlexLogPluginMessage, probe:20
DATA #1 : String with size, 68 bytes
Password validation for user xxxxxxxxxxxxx failed with rc = -2146500507

The password I used is correct, and is used to sign on to windows.

What I am trying to do is validate users by setting up a group in the DB2 database called QMF-USER. I have already added that group to specific users in LDAP.

    Environment is DB2 10.5 on WInServer 2008R2.

Did you set the DB2 Registry Parameter for LDAP.

    db2set DB2AUTH=OSAUTHDB

    Best Regards,

Isn't DB2AUTH=OSAUTHDB for Transparent LDAP on AIX, Linux, etc? I am running on a WinServer box.
