Pinned topic Should every record be separated with SPACE in a csv file for DFDL domain in wmb 8

‏2013-08-13T00:49:39Z |

Hi!

I'm trying to convert CSV to XML using DFDL xsd in wmb 8.

Works fine only if each and every record is separated by space, though the content/data of each record are separated by " , "

eg: works fine if i/p is :

Elvis,John,3 Yellow Brick Road,Chicago,IL,60699,GGY-118-AS
Rick,Clayton,461 Ocean Boulevard,Miami,FL,33101,LOP-212-TY

and does not work if it is

Elvis,John,3 Yellow Brick Road,Chicago,IL,60699,GGY-118-AS,Rick,Clayton,461 Ocean Boulevard,Miami,FL,33101,LOP-212-TY

Thank you,

Buddy Geeks

No. the problem will be with how you coded DFDL

No. the problem will be with how you coded DFDL

I actually created DFDL using the message model ->

" create a  DFDL schema using the wizard to guide you" option and I gave

    CSV escape scheme

    and in record settings gave:

End of record character : Carriage Return and Line Feed - %CR,%LF

Should the End of record character be changed to something else to be my records end character a " , "  ???

I followed the same and works fine for me. What you gave in the "number of fields"?. it must be 7.

    You said it works for

eg: works fine if i/p is :

    Elvis,John,3 Yellow Brick Road,Chicago,IL,60699,GGY-118-AS
    Rick,Clayton,461 Ocean Boulevard,Miami,FL,33101,LOP-212-TY

here it has CRLF  between the record and not SPACE.
