Pinned topic dtxcmdsv command: can we run this in silent mode

‏2013-05-08T05:40:50Z |

Hi All,

when i run map using dtxcmdsv , generally i get a map execution log like below . Is there any way i can write this in a file? or run dtxcmdsv in silent mode?

IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender(TM) Solaris(TM) Command Server - version 8.3.0.4(13)_32bit
© Copyright 2011 IBM Corporation. All rights reserved.

Map file: 'MSC_XYZ.mmc' -A='../maplog/MSC.log' -IE1 '%lt;data;%gt;' -IE2 '%lt;data;%gt;' -OASINK1 . -OF2 '../Alpha.res'
In # 2: 2 Out # 2: 2 Time: 0:00

Map completed (0): Map completed successfully (0.781 seconds)

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Viji,

Could you try writing a small bat file and configure the bat file in a scheduler to run the comand in silent mode automatically. Let me know if I am not understanding your requirement.

    Thanks,

    Vijji,

I'm only familiar with the windows platform, however did you try the -R0 parameter ?   This should eliminate anything being written to the console during the execution of the map.

Since you have the audit enabled -A='../maplog/MSC.log' all the run information should be in '../maplog/MSC.log'

However if your running the map in a batch file or UNIX script you could also pipe any console output to a separate file by adding >MapConsoleOutput.log to the end of the dtxcmdsv command line.

    Regards,

    Greg

Thanks Debnarayan and GPSmith for your reply.

    >MapConsoleOutput.log is not working. i mean all log file is not comming in a file.

to fix this we used different option( may be same like above) . used

put dstx command in shell with all params,

called that script and wrote the output like     dstxcmdshell.sh >/dev/null 2>&1

    this solved the issue.

Use the following syntax to run without the GUI being displayed:

    dtxcmdsv Example.mmc -R0

The -R0 will prevent the GUI from being displayed, even if there is any error.
