Pinned topic OMG, how to search the old posts?!

‏2013-05-01T02:20:56Z |

I search "multisite" from the upper right corner, only returned three results! All history gone?!

    Can any IBMer explain why?

This forum is not so active now, and the history is the only place we can find information. Please resolve this.

I think this may have been a temporary problem. Is it working better now?

Yes :)  It's probably a matter of finding the proper contacts for DevWorks. Have you tried the "Contact us" link in the footer?

Please see known issues regarding search on our upgrade FAQ page.

developerWorks uploaded an updated index of the site this past weekend.  We apologize for the difficulties this caused in the interim.

Admin privileges will not be available until approximately June 1.  For anything that requires admin privileges until then, send a request to talk2dw@us.ibm.com.

    Q.  Why doesn't search work?
    A.  Due to the volume of data, it takes several days to build the search index.  The initial search index following the upgrade is still running.  When it is finished, search will work as expected.  UPDATE 5/6/2013: A search index has been built and has been deployed.

What does this update mean? Because it's still NOT working.

I agree with Jirong. The search is still not working, although all posts since 2002 are on the forum.

I've sent an email to the talk2dw@us.ibm.com asking to fix this.

Unfortunately, the search is still not working. I found the following response via the FAQs

    Q.  Why doesn't search work?

    A.  Due to the volume of data, it takes several days to build the search index.  The initial search index following the upgrade is still running.  When it is finished, search will work as expected.  UPDATE 5/6/2013: A search index has been built and has been deployed.  UPDATE 6/14/2013: We have opened a PMR on this issue and are investigating why the legacy forum content appears to have not been included in the search index.

Is IBM listening? Can they restore the old database somewhere, just for us to search?! Damn out sourcing!

We are in the process of re-indexing the legacy community content, now that we have identified the problem with the original index.  We will make an announcement on our FAQ page at https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/connect/ICv4upgrade when the new index is deployed.
