Pinned topic "Processing restricted: out of memory. 7 percent of roots skipped"

‏2013-12-05T15:28:40Z |

I'm having trouble with a scan, after a few hours Ounce crashes and I found this message in the logs:

"Processing restricted for call graph with root .... process memory limit exceeded during initial pass"

"Processing restricted: out of memory. 7 percent of roots skipped"

Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jason,

Can you provide some additional details about your configuration?

What version of AppScan are you using?

With what tool does the problem appear?  Source Analysis?  Developer Plugin?  CLI?

Are you using a Windows or Linux based tool?

What kind of application are you scanning?  How large is your application?

If you attempted to scan your entire application, you may be able to workaround the issue by scanning a subset of your application.  Depending on the type of application and language used, you may also be able to workaround the problem using pre-compiled classes to scan your application.  HowTo information for scanning pre-compiled classes is included in the User Guide in the doc folder of your Source installation.

    Hey Scott,

I'm using AppScan Source Version 8.0.0.1.

The problem occurs when I'm scanning the project with the eclipse plugin.

I'm using a Windows based tool.

The Java project is about 400 MB, it's OpenDJ version 2.5.0-Xpress.

I ran the scan again without the plugin and it does finish, it produces 160,000+ findings and fails to generate the report due to a parcing error.
