Pinned topic DOORS data source and generic xml

‏2013-11-08T14:29:39Z |

Hallo,

I want to create a template with a DOORS data source and a generic xml data source. Everytime when I create a Doors template and later add a generic xml data source, the RPE doesn't generate the template. Is it possible to create such a template?

Regards,

Sidika

    Hi Sidika,

To understand this better, did you mean that,  in RPE template you are adding two schema, one for DOORS and the second for Generic XML? Or that the RPE template has just one schema, DOORS data source,  and in document specification you want to use XML as input data? The later case is not supported in RPE.

If it's OK to share the template, pls share?

    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,

    thanks for your answer :).

To understand my problem here is an explanation:

To generate a DOORS module with a Masterpage full with attributes like author, created by, date, title... I have a xml schema in DOORS.

Now I created a Template for generating DOORS modules. For generating a DOORS module with a Masterpage (author, created by, date, title...) I configure a .dot file with marks for author, created by, date, title...I created fields in my RPE template (see attachment) with a target adress with the same attributes (.dot file). The Problem is, that I can't use my xml schema, Instead I have to create every attribute in every DOORS module to get them in RPE.

So, my idea was to add two schema, one fpr DOORS and second for Generic XML, but I thinks thats not the answer of my problem :(.

    Is there a solution?

    Hope you understand the problem.

    Regards,

    Sidika

    Hi,

Not sure I understand the comment" I have an xml schema I DOORS"?

    Do you inside a module?

With respect to using  the .dot file for the masterpage - Inused to do it that way but found in the end it was easier to create the master page in the RPE template

This isnt a solution to your problem but you may want to look at the following to see an alternative way of achieving a similar result:
