Pinned topic Type manager "utf32le_file_delta

‏2013-07-02T17:05:32Z |

hi,

can anyone help me with utf32le_file_delta error?

I have copied the file from my desktop to CCRC and then added it to source control

When i open the file and give a blank line and check the file back to source control i see the error as :

CCRC WAN Server: Error: Type manager "utf32le_file_delta" failed create_version operation.

Hence I changed the file type to compressed_file. I am able to check in the file after changing its file type to compressed_file.

the CC version of server is : 8.0.0.02 and CCRC on my machine is of 8.0 version.

Our servers are on Linux and I am working through CCRC from  Windows Client.

As UTF file types is supported in version 8 , am I missing any parameter check ?

    You maybe encountering APAR PM90874

    https://www-304.ibm.com/support/entdocview.wss?uid=swg1PM90874

Not sure if it affects UTF-32 as well as UTF-16, but it probably does.

I say "change the file type to compressed_file" is a "workaround" rather than a "solution", since you then lose the UTF-32 compare/merge functionality.

    Hi Dave,

The UTF type managers are written in Java, so the APAR could apply to both since it looks like most of the error messages are JIT errors. If you got the other errors being mentioned, then you are likely hitting the APAR.

If you are ONLY seeing the "failed create_version..." message, you may have hit a different issue. The 8K-character line length limit exists in these test type managers as well, for example. You may want to see if you can add the file to source control as UTF text at the server itself using the standard client. If that fails, the APAR might not apply.
