Pinned topic DB2 10.1 FP 2 restore fails on Windows with Spanish locale

‏2013-09-06T12:58:51Z |

I have DB2 10.1 FP 2 installed on Windows machine with ES (Spanish) locale. After taking a backup when restore is executed, the restore command fails with the following error:

db2 restore db TESTDB from "C:\Windows\TEMP" TAKEN AT 20130904151835  WITHOUT PROMPTING
SQL2061N  Se ha denegado el acceso al soporte de almacenamiento

"C:\Windows\TEMP".

which means : You do not have enough permissions on the device media "C:\Windows\TEMP".

Even if we give all permissions to that folder its not helping. Though we can create files and folders there.

If you change the system TMP environment variable to point to some other folder, it works fine!!

Can anybody help with this?

    Hi,

you must run Db2 with an real service account with local admin rights.

Put the current connected user in the group  dbadmins if configured.

Move  your  backup file away  from \windows\temp ( c:\db2_backup f.e.)

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

The problem was the instance or db2user was not a member of the Administrators group. When DB2 is installed on a Operating System of Spanish locale or French locale it is not adding the db2 user to that group Administrators.

Any idea about this issue ?

I 'am from Germany, but I always install English Versions of Windows. If  you really need a native language, install an MUI pack after.

Actually this is the GVT GLobalization Verification Testing team which has caught the issue.
They install the OS in that locale itself.
