Pinned topic SA Publisher update adds Java 7 update 25 compatibility

‏2013-09-27T20:18:58Z |

Hi,

There have recently been many reports of the Java navigation pane in SA Publisher reports not loading when the version of Java on a machine is upgraded to version 7 update 25.  SA Publisher was updated in System Architect 11.4.2.5, which was just released, to account for the changes introduced in this version of Java.  If you have seen this problem, you can update System Architect to allow the navigation pane in newly created reports to work.  Existing reports can be fixed by renaming the following files in the report's folder and replacing them with the files of the same name from the ...\System Architect Suite\SA Publisher\Common folder in the 11.4.2.5 install:

atc43cjc.jar
batik-all.jar
chart.js
insertSVGfile.js
js.jar
pdf-transcoder.jar
SVGViewer.jar
xml-apis.jar
xml-apis-ext.jar

Incidentally, 11.4.2.5 also fixes a similar problem with the page generated by the SA Compare tool.

Thanks.

    Hi, Marquis

Succeeded to your information, the issue is indeed fixed in SA 11.4.2.5. However, we have received several issues from clients say the get the same issue after upgrade to Java 7 update 45. Seems Java 7 update 45 is NOT a stable version, Oracle breaks the backward compatibility to fix some defects in this update. The related information is from below Java 7 u45 release note.

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/7u45-relnotes-2016950.html

Currently we suggest all client remains on Java 7 update 25 until Oracle releases a stable version in future.

    Thanks

    Hi Hai,

You are correct, Java 7 update 45 has compatibility problems and has broken, not just SA Publisher and SA Compare, but many other Java applications for other vendors as well, globally.  We do recommend that users stay at Java 7 update 25 for now, until Oracle releases a fix for the compatibility problems introduced in Java 7 update 45
