Pinned topic Replicate from v7000 -> v3700

‏2014-08-12T02:13:48Z |

hi guys

I was reading through documents and I found v7000 -> v3700 can create a partnership to replicate that's great now I have a question which I don't find an answer how many v7000 can replicate to the v3700? just one or two or more?

second question, documentation says that only volumes with the same size will show up when creating the relationship is that true or it will show as well volumes with bigger size?

thanks a lot

thanks a lot

    Each SVC/Storwize system can be partnered with up to 3 other systems.

    Like most of the system limits information, this is published in a separate document (rather than being part of the Information Center).

    V7.3 Configuration Limits and Restrictions for IBM Storwize V3700
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=ssg1S1004626

    There's a row in the system properties section of the table, up near the top, for "Inter-cluster partnerships per system"

    So you could have up to three V7000 systems replicating to a V3700 system.  Though you should keep in mind that the performance of a V7000 system is significantly greater than that of a V3700, so careful planning would be needed to ensure you don't create a performance problem for yourself.

    Relationships can only be created between volumes that have *exactly* the same size on each system.   (Think of the failover case where you need to switch direction and then replicate from secondary -> primary for why this needs to be the case!).

      chriscanto thanks a lot for the information

      yeah I got your point about the performance issue I possibly could have

    Hi all,

    I passed this trouble but now, i have other issue. After has did partnership between V7000 and V3700, and started relationship from volumes, I have constantly lost of connectivity " Connection to a configured remote cluster has been lost " every time in intervals 5mins 8mins 13 mins but our link respond at 1ms (in 65000000 packages 99.% success).

    What is the issue here?
