Pinned topic cqweb 8.0.1 login?

‏2014-02-13T18:37:18Z |

Hello All,

I installed websphere 8.5 and upgraded cqweb from 7.1.2 to 8.0.1 in installed.  But after that I cannot open cqweb with

http://localhost/cqweb. Any ideas? http://localhost open the HTTP Server page.

Thanks.

Have you followed all the necessary steps? Make sure you have configure IBM HTTP Server for Websphere Application Server plug-in if you want to use the port 80. Otherwise, you need to use the HTTP port of the WAS profile, e.g. 9080. So the URL would be http://localhost:9080/cqweb/

If you don't know the port number of the WAS profile, check the AboutThisProfile.txt under the profile.

    Try this also-

    http://localhost:12080/cqweb/

    Or

    http://<IP Address of your server>:12080/cqweb

Thank you Donald and Manoj. http://localhost:12080/cqweb/ works.

My next question is how to hide the port number?

    Thanks.

Usually, you install IHS with WAS Plugin. IHS would listen to standard ports (80/443) and pass requests to the WAS.
Alternatively, you can use Apache reverse proxy module.

    Hi,

IHS can be installed using installation manager. It is a part of the WAS supplementary tools package. You can find plug-in configuration details in the product documentation:
    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/cqhelp/v8r0m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.rational.clearquest.install_upgrade.doc%2Ftopics%2Fwas_install%2Ft_config_web_plugin_ihs8.htm

If you prefer Apache mod_proxy, you need to load mod_proxy, configure access list, and add ProxyPass and Proxy PassReverse directive in the config file, like
    ProxyPass /cqweb http://localhost:12080/cqweb
    ProxyPassreverse /cqweb http://localhost:12080/cqweb

Depending on the meaning of "hide", you may have to take extra steps. If you only intend to access CQWeb using the URL http://localhost/cqweb/, as in not providing a port number, following Pavel's suggestion should be suffice. If however, you want to "block" port 12080 and force all users to use port 80 (which is the case that I recently got involved in), then you will need to use a firewall for this purpose. But until you get port 80 working, don't trouble yourself with the second quest. :-)

    Hi

These three videos take you through the process of installing WAS 8.5, IHS, configuring the pklugin and installing clearquest. You might find them helpful for configuring the plugin.
