Pinned topic IBM WTX & IIB (32 bit / 64 bit )

‏2014-06-19T07:58:33Z |

We have current IBM WTX maps developed on a 32 bit environment using 8.3 version and the IIB broker running on 64 bit architecture. Will there be a conflict or impact when the WTX maps ( 32 bit) will be deployed to the IIB broker which is running on 64 bit ?

What are the further steps we need to follow if there is a conflict ?

    Hi,

Maps do not have a 'bitness' and can be used without modification on either 32 or 64 bit.

    Thanks

    Further...

Connectivity may be an issue, and you will have to ensure you have the correct 3rd party software drivers to ensure WTX can access its sources and targets.

    Thanks

Thanks for sharing your inputs paul. I have missed out to mention in my earlier question on the WTX Plugin Node in IIB 9.0. Does that work/support for the maps built on 32 bit ?

We have most of the interfaces using MQ , SAP Adapters ( BAPI , JBAPI  ) & WebServices for receiving and sending the files. We use these adapters( BAPI, JBAPI) in the WTX map rule and call the SAP systems and retrieve the data. Does it have any impact ? If so , is there any way to handle them.

Yes, the WTX Plugin Node for IIB 9.0 will run maps compiled on Windows Design Studio 32 bit.

I do not believe there is a 64 bit version of the SAP Pack, and therefore the BAPI adapter will probably not work.  You should be OK with the JBAPI adapter.

    Thanks
