Pinned topic What are your top 2-3 techie blogs you read and why?

‏2010-04-13T21:13:14Z |
Do you read technical blogs? If you do, help the group out...

Name your top 2-3 technical blogs (include a link to the blogs).
Share why these are your "top picks".  What is it about these blogs that keeps you hooked?  Why do you like these blogs?

I'll be compiling this into a group wiki and blog post, to help our My developerWorks bloggers get ideas for improving their blogs!

Thanks!
- Valerie

     Hi,

I read a blog through my search results. I make a research when I need some kind of information.
I tried to follow some blogs in the past, but I couldn't, so I gave up.

    Regards,

    Ts

     Hi, Valerie.

Are you expecting the blog on My dW only or can I include any external blogs by non-IBMer?

     Hi Koh,
it doesn't matter whether they are on developerWorks or from IBMers!  Share your favorite, best technical blogs and why.  That way we can learn about the characteristics of a good technical blog from a reader's perspective.

    Thanks for participating!

Thanks Thiago!  This is very useful, because it helps us understand why readers end up on blogs - often when they need specific types of information.

    OK.
    Here are a few ones which I recommend;

    CodeZine: http://codezine.jp/
    Publickey: http://www.publickey1.jp/
    Unofficial DB2 BLOG: http://db2.jugem.cc/

    Hope these help.

    Thanks,
    Koh

    Two very different blogs:

Joel on Software.  There's quite a bit of variety.  His humor and anecdotes disguises really practical approaches and advice.  I find myself laughing or relating to the story, but in the end always finding something new to consider (especially since some of the posts are quite dated).  I read this one, and then find myself later referencing it - case in point unicode.

Lekkimworld.   A blog more close to my domain, but I find myself stumbling back to his short updates which somehow hit dead center on the question I had the week before.  Why this happens - I just can't explain ... ;)  If you blog enough, I suppose someone is bound to relate.

I like the ones from InfoQ and TheServerSide in addition to Java Developerworks. InfoQ has a lot of relevant information about Integration related technologies.
