Pinned topic COBOL for Windows compiler

‏2013-06-19T16:04:07Z |

Unless I am quite wrong, whatever .. why has IBM removed this compiler from the Windows world?

For me it was there in RDz offerings under Partnerworld at a reasonable annual rate to the Software Access Catalogue. It seems I now need mainframe access to compile COBOL pgms.

Thanks,

Graham Hobbs

To my understanding IBM has move this functionality to another package "Rational Development and Test Environment for System z" (RD&T)

    Denis,

Timothy Sipples on IBM-Main concurred with what you say and I replied thereto. Significant and prohibitive is that my present $900 that gave me the compiler, is now packaged with RD&T at $8,760 - out of sight for me.

    Thanks anyway
