Pinned topic Processing stops on Analyze file step

‏2013-07-09T18:45:05Z |

We had RAA 6.0.2 installed and we just upgraded it to 6.1.  I also dropped the DB and recreated it.

I proceeded to collect inventory for a folder that has about 10 subfolders with about 20K files in all (9K copybooks in a copybooks folder).

However, it appears that the analysis stops on the Analyze File step and there are 14K outstanding requests listed.  Also, no default concatenation set was created.

This is the first time I'm using 6.1 so I don't know if there is an issue or if it's just that it's been a while since I've run RAA and I missed some important step.

    John,

    Here's what I get:

    DB21085I  Instance "DB2" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL09070" with
    level identifier "08010107".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v9.7.0.441", "s090521", "NT3297", and Fix Pack
    "0".
Product is installed at "D:\IBM\SQLLIB" with DB2 Copy Name "DB2COPY1".

The version of DB2 you are using needs to have a FixPack applied to it in order to resolve the SQL -805 error being issued.   The latest FixPack for DB2 v9.7 is  FixPack 7 -- available on IBM Fix Central ( www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral )

Alternatively, you could install DB2 v10.x

After you update DB2, please let me know if the problem has been resolved.

This does not seem normal (to me).  Would you be able to zip up the <installDir>\temp and <installDir>\og files and forward them for review?

Thank you for the log/temp files.    The last entry in the DMH6000.log file indicates two errors:

Fatal Error: line 336 in DMHD455

        Fatal DB2 Error: -805

This sequence of errors has been known to occur when the version of DB2 being used is at Fix Pack "0".

Would you open a Windows command window and type:  db2level

It should respond with something like:

DB21085I  This instance or install (instance name, where applicable: "DB2")
uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL10012" with level identifier "0203010E".
       Informational tokens are "DB2 v10.1.200.238", "s121127", "IP23388", and Fix Pack "2".
Product is installed at "C:\PROGRA~2\IBM\SQLLIB" with DB2 Copy Name "DB2COPY1".

Please let me know what version/fix pack level of DB2 you are running.

I installed the fixpak, dropped the DB and rescanned.  I can now see entries that go beyond the Analyze file step.  Thanks John!

Hi Alex/John,  I am also facing the same issue. I got the DB2 fix pack now. but I am not finding an option to upgrade DB2 with latest fix. Do I need to re install completely by using the fix?  Thanks

Do you mean how to install the DB2 fixpak?  I believe you just run the setup executable.  See http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r7/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.luw.qb.server.doc/doc/c0025016.html.  As far as how to rescan after installing the fixpak, you can requeue the folders you want to rescan.  I chose to drop the DB and start over since I wasn't worried about losing anything.

Thanks Alex, but when tried setup, it was not proceeding with the installation, so I uninstalled 9.7 and reinstalled again with the fix pack..

The issue is resolved after applying the fix and able to scan the inventory successfully. Thanks.
