Pinned topic CTE Eclipse Plugin - Dynamic view support

‏2014-03-05T20:49:23Z |

Hi All,

Installed CC/CQ 7.1.2.6 thick client and CTE 8.0.1.1 eclipse plugin on a Windows XP machine.  I am unable to use dynamic view functionality using CTE eclipse plugin. Dynamic view feature is greyed out.

Do I need to upgrade thick client to 8.0.1  to use dynamic view feature on the CTE client.

Thanks in Advance

Cheers,

Jose

    Hello Jose,

    Good day.

First of all, for Dynamic views to work: It needs the MVFS to be installed on a given machine,

Having said that, if you want to use the Dynamic view capability in the CTE, then you should also install the corresponding ClearCase thick client on the same machine. Because only then the MVFS component will be installed on that particular machine.

In your specific scenario, Yes: you need to install/ upgrade your CC think client on the client machine also 8.0.x to use the Dynamic view capability in the CTE.

    Thanks,

    Avinash
