Pinned topic mif import of item master from flat file xml error

‏2013-05-08T22:48:20Z |

We are using the MIF to import item master data from a flat file. I think the xml being generated is not correctly formated and is causing an error.

Below is the xml being generated. Note the conditioncode tag in red does not have a matching starting tag, which I think is causing the error.

Anyone run into this and resolve it ?

Also we are a new implementation, and our consultants are having us use the MIF. This is painfull to use. Have others used straight sql to load their data and did you encounter issues ?

Thanks so much.

I am trying to import item master recs with the mif using a
flat file.

I think the xml being generated by the mif is not in good format and is
causing the error.

Here is the xml being generated for one record:
Note the part in red. It only has the end tag, not the start tag.
I tried editing the xml and putting a <CONDITIONCODE> tag right
before it, but I got an unknown system error when it tried to reprocess it.

Ideas ?

Re: mif import of item master from flat file xml error

Why do you have the same description for ITEM and also for ITEMCONDITION?

Tag CODITIONCODE is correctly closed (xml implicit closure), but a value for this field is required if you specify an ITEMCONDITION record. If you don't want CONTIONCODE record, remove the data of ITEMCONDITION section.

    Regards.

      Thanks for the help.

We do not have conditiions, so I removed it all, and it worked.
