Pinned topic Upgrade from 7.1.2.2 to 7.1.2.12 issue

‏2014-02-20T18:35:03Z |

OK I have a windows 2008 srvr installed with CC 7.1.2.2 and CQ 7.1.2.2 and am trying to update to 7.1.2.12 version of both.  I was previously running Install mgr 1.4.3 I beleive and I attempted the Fix pack upgrade and got the message from IM that I needed a higher level of IM.  So I moved up to IM 1.7.0

I then start thru the update in IM again and get part way thru the install and it errors out.  I have looked in the IM logs and found that it is trying run isuninst.exe in a cmd window and the binary is no where to be found.  I have verified that isuninst.exe is not on the system anywhere.  So the good news is the upgrade did not get far enough to wipe out the current working install but I am stuck on what to do next.  I have searched the web for any answers and have not come across anything.

Has anyone had any experience with this upgrade ?  It appears you have to keep CC and CQ at the same level will not let you install only one of them and leave the other at 7.1.2.2

Thanks Dennis

    That's correct.

Thank you for the replay.  I am sorry I mislead everyone.  I figured out they had to stay the same by messing around so that is not the real issue.   I am sure the issue is tied up in the instal manager versions and old one versus new one.and the fact 2.12 needs something newer then 1.4.3 but 1.7 seems to be looking for the "isuninstall.exe" which is no where to be found on the system and stops the install when it fails on this.    Not sure but I think the upgrade path is a little less than smooth or I have missed some gyration I have to do for this upgrade.
