Pinned topic Optim with Oracle "instant client"

‏2013-04-22T07:31:55Z |

Hi,

I have a problem in installing Optim 9.1 to use with Oracle 11.2g.
After installation, Optim Configuration fails.  I did some investigation and finally found that the problem happens if I install Oracle "instant client".

Does this mean Optim does not support Oracle instant client?

    Hi -

I can't comment with absolute authority, but in my experience things started working once I replaced Instant Client with the Full Client.

    Regards - John.

    Hi Nekobus

I am experiencing the same problem.

Did installing the full client work for you?

    Hi,

Yes, it did work.  It seems Optim refers the "oracle.key" file that does not come with Oracle instant client.  Once you install full client, see if  "oracle.key" file exits.  If it exists, Optim should work.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your speedy reply.

I have another question, when installing OPTIM v9.1, did you install the repository files?

    > repository files
Do you mean repository server and repository manager?
If you do not use Optim Designer or Optim Manager, you do not need to install Optim repository manager and server.
Am I answering your question?  If you ask about Optim installation, you better create a new thread.

    Thanks,
