Pinned topic WSP Error rule on Backside MQ error

‏2013-04-23T22:58:07Z |

Hi,
I have a WSP with Backside as MQ , I have tried with both MQ and DPMQ protocol but for some reason the Error rule is not invoking when I have MQ error , like Request Message too Large for MQ to handle.
I want to send this message back to the client but seems the DP is not taking this error and an error as when I probed - I dont see any error service variables populated.

15:42:42 mq error 10784897   127.0.0.3 0x80e00648 wsgw (SampleWSP): Could not send, message is too large (Reason Code 2010), MQ Reason Code = 2010, MQ URL = dpmq://QM/Request?RequestQueue=REQUEST.QUEUE
15:42:42 mq alert 10784897   127.0.0.3 0x0131000e wsgw (SampleWSP): Could not send, message is too large (Reason Code 2010)

The response rule is executed immediately after this error.

15:42:42 ws-proxy info 10784897 response 127.0.0.3 0x80e000b4 wsgw (SampleWSP): rule (SampleWSP_default_response-rule): selected via match 'SampleWSP_match_all' from processing policy 'SampleWSP'
All of the Error Service variabled are empty when I try to probably , probably why the error rule didnt invoke.

Service Variables:
name type value
var://service/aaa-error-logs node-set (show nodeset)
var://service/client-service-address string '127.0.0.3:20056'
var://service/conformance/policyname string (empty string)
var://service/connection/note string (empty string)
var://service/current-call-depth string '0'
var://service/domain-name string 'Dev'
var://service/error-code string '0x00000000'
var://service/error-headers string (empty string)
var://service/error-ignore string '0'
var://service/error-message string (empty string)
var://service/error-subcode string '0x00000000'
var://service/formatted-error-message string
(empty string)

Can someone guide what is going wrong or do I need a PMR. I am on XI52.4.0.2.8

Re: WSP Error rule on Backside MQ error

    Hi,

I had the same problem few weeks ago with a Mutli Protocol Gateway.

You will may find your solution in the DataPower infocenter (http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wsdatap/v5r0m0/index.jsp)

disabled the "Process backend errors" was the solution.

    Regards

    Maxime

Also discussed in this forum was the use on the response rule of a transformation that interrogates x-dp-response-code and can see if you have a 2xxx return code where you can do a dp:reject and drive the error processing yourself.
