Pinned topic Windows deployment problem on VPKD

‏2014-01-24T17:39:01Z |

I am using VPKD build 4.0.0.0-20130725092014  / 20130725-0918-706 and I used the built-in ICCT to capture a Windows Server 2008 R2 image that I imported to the VPKD catalog. However, each time I deploy a VSP based on that image I get the following:

Current status: Starting  Checking to see if virtual system Windows 2008 is started.

and it's stuck there indefinitely. I can still remote desktop to the instance using the assigned IP but the status above is worrisome.

The following messages are constant in the logs:

[2014-01-24 17:49:41:907 UTC] 00069501 RXA E com.ibm.tivoli.remoteaccess.SSHProtocol beginSessionImpl [9.55.51.194] CTGRI0001E The application could not establish a connection to 9.55.51.194 .

[2014-01-24 17:49:51:958 UTC] 00069502 RXA E com.ibm.tivoli.remoteaccess.WindowsProtocol beginSessionImpl [9.55.51.194] CTGRI0001E The application could not establish a connection to 9.55.51.194 .

Any ideas?

    Hello,

It looks like VPDK cannot access the deployed VM - have you followed the steps outlined here: Creating Windows images?

Yes, I have. As a matter of fact the image deploys without any problem on an IPAS Intel rack. It's just VPKD that is giving me this problem and I've tried multiple times, even recreating the image within ICCT multiple times and using a different VPKD environment all with the same outcome.
