Pinned topic Matching product name in Licenses with Software Catalog

‏2013-04-25T15:33:02Z |

Hi Everybody

I'm importing licences informations to SCCD 7.5 with CSV files (using Enterprise Services). The question is : how do I match the product name coming from the flat file with the name used in the Software Catalog (to run the audit report) ??

Thanks for help

    Hi Selim

You can specify the associated software info in your csv file:

for instance: I use this attached flat file to import a license with associated software record: note how the software details like software manufacturer, software name, release, version etc are mentioned in this file...

Is that what you are looking for??

    Thanks

    Taslima Vora.

The SWMANUFACTURER,SWNAME,SWVERSION,SWRELEASE fields must match what you have in your software catalog.

    Hi taslima

Thanks for your response. After verification, we can use the conversion variants : it's simply an alias of the preferred software name.

But I prefer your method (it takes less time)

Thank you again for your help

    Hi,

    Other question about your file

If I want to integrate a top-level product (so without version or a release). What I have to do (it didn't worked without those two parameters) ?

You can leave those 2 fields blank. The import should still work fine.

    See the example attached

about the file you sent to me, SCCD telling me that it must be a unique record !!  I think it's because I'm have two top-level products in Software Catalog (the first one is a component and the second is a softwareProduct)

the message is : BMXIT0030E - More than one record was found for software with values [swname=IBM Tivoli Monitoring, version=,release=,manufacturer=IBM]. The record must be uniquye. The license record cannot be imported

Trying to add Role attribute in file but it didn't worked

Do you have any idea please ?

Selim, how did you get more than one record? How did you create these software catalog records which have same values for (swname, manufacturer, release and version)?

Usually if you try to create 2 records like that from the UI, it will not let you do it.

Selim, if you could run this query, that would help me understand the problem:

Please run this query for the software on which you are getting the

    error.

select * from tloamsoftware where swnmae='your software name here'

    Hi taslima

Sorry for the delay, actually I imported the software catalog from SwKbt.

    I've never create records manually.

Here the results of the SQL request.

Yep, we are aware of this issue and will hopefully have a fix in the future releases.

So, we if we have more than one record for a specific product (component and softwareProduct). It's not possible to use your solution ?
