Pinned topic IBM InfoSphere Information Server 9.1.2.0 Installation error

‏2013-09-26T08:15:03Z |

Hi,

I started the installation of IBM InfoSphere Information Server 9.1.2.0. The installation aborts with an error during phase "RealTimePacks".

I found the following java error message. It points to a missing file /root/ds91/is-suite/payloads/DataStageCommon/RealTimePacks/payload/Plugins/javaclient.jar but this file exists.

[...]

Starting to install package at [/root/ds91/is-suite/payloads/DataStageCommon/RealTimePacks/payload/Plugins/javaclient.jar].

    at com.ascential.dstage.compinstall.InstallAction.Execute(InstallAction.java:99)
    ... 3 more

[...]

I have no idea how to get out of this installation error.

Maybe anyone could help me.

I attached the Installation Error (InstallError.txt and InstallError.png)

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Gerhard Paulus

The component installer runs as dsadm and dsadm may not have access to /root directory where you store the installation media. The installer couldn't get to the files regardless of the actual file permissions.

If you un-tar the distribution in a folder you can give access to dsadm, then re-try the install and the installer should be able to read those *.jar files.

    Hi madavid,

I moved my installation media from ~root to /tmp so dsadm has access to the whole installation image.

And it works. Installation finished successfully.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Regards,

    Gerhard
