Pinned topic CICS V51 trial install

‏2013-10-22T14:24:11Z |

I have downloaded the CICS V51 trial from Shopz.

The Program Product listing for the trial makes reference to rel files that were not included in my download.

What I do have is a number of files with SCPP in their dsnames.

How do I get the relfiles from the files that were downloaded?

Hi Roger - please can I check which installation method you ordered - normal choices would be CBPDO and Serverpac and those files types to me look like the Severpac offering. This makes a difference to what is delivered in what format.

    Thanks

    Francis

Yes I asked for the Servicepac offering - do I have to ask for the CBPDO offering or are there instructions on how to install the Servicepac

There should be instructions for installing the Serverpac, but from your comments I am guessing either there are not any or if there are they are not obvious - correct?

Correct - is there any general documentation on how to install a Servicepac or is each installation unique?

I also ran into this problem when ordering CTG V9.0 but found the install jobs in the downloaded files.

Roger - I have been sent the following:

For ServerPac orders, you will have to recieve, install using CustomPac Dialogs. There is a document available to assist ServerPac Installations,

ServerPac: Using the Installation Dialog which you can find here:

              http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/zos/v2r1/topic/com.ibm.zos.v2r1.gima200/abstract.htm

I have also been told that someone from ServerPac will be in touch with you to guide you through. Please let me know if this does not happen and if you still have any issues / problems.

              Thanks

I have switched to using the CBPDO install and now get errors in the RECEIVE

The RECEIVE fails for HCIZ300 because of INSUFFICIENT OUTPUT LIBRARY DIRECTORY BLOCKS for HCIZ300.F3

The RECEIVE fails for HOZ2110 because of INSUFFICIENT OUTPUT LIBRARY DIRECTORY BLOCKS for HOZ2110.F4

Can I proceed without these products?

If these products are needed how are more directory blocks allocated to their datasets?

Hi Roger - these are the Service Flow Feature and Rexx for CICS - they are not needed to run CICS TS, so what I suggest you do in order to proceed is delete the following FMID from the SMP/E Apply and Accept Step:

                  H0B5110
                  H0B7110
                  H0Z2110
                  HCIZ300

Please note I have stated that you should delete FMIDS H0B5110 and H0B7110 as these are also REXX for CICS FMIDS and without HOZ2110 REXX for CICS  will not run, so these will be of no use to you.
