Pinned topic SWCATALOGIMPORT Cron Task

‏2013-10-25T10:39:36Z |

I'm trying to set up the SCCD 7.5.1 Demo Content Package and a pre-requisite is to run the above Cron task to perform a software catalog import however I keep getting the following error.

system#exceptionBMXAA6361I - caused by:BMXAA1702E - Cannot read from the file.
BMXLM0167E - Parsing error while splitting file {1} into messages for each object structure. This error can occur when a file contains no content, possibly because of restrictive filter criteria or because of an error in transformation.
BMXAA5596E - An XML parsing error occurred when the XML structure was being converted to a flat structure. The processing exception is identified in document 2.
BMXAA5599E - Cannot load a file to the inbound JMS queue from a data import transaction or from a cron task because of an error in the 2. system#exception document/line.
system#exception

I'm wondering whether I've missed a pre-requisite to the import?

Regards

Richard

    Hi Richard,

For your reference here are the steps outlined in the Information Center for Configuring the cron task and scheduling the import.

    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v50r1/topic/com.ibm.sccd.doc/import_asset/c_configure_schedule_cron_task.html

There are further topics in the left-hand-navigation that may also help.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards

    Hi Richard,

Check the High Message Threshold value for you JMS Queue points configuration (Message Bus Engine). The recommended values is 500,000. (review recommendations at http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21330565, Creating JMS resources section). I experienced the same issue recently and monitoring the CQIN queue I noticed messages volume wen up to 170,000 approximately. If the high value is bellow that you will get the error message you posted.

If you use Websphere Application Server, here is the path : Connection factories > [Conn Factory name] > Buses > [busname] > Messaging engines > [message_engine_name] > Queue points

    Hope it helps

    Regards,
    Rodrigo

Please take a look at this technote..  It covers the errors you have encountered and suggests it might be an issue with the way your message queues are setup:
