Pinned topic 3.5.1\Oracle 12c - During install - data schema connection test failure

‏2016-07-07T12:56:38Z |

During install (upgrade to 3.5.1 on existing Oracle 12c) I noticed the installer appears to be using a deprecated connection method for testing the data schema.

it is using:
tridata@jdbc:oracle:thin:@server:1521:tririga

instead of:
tridata@jdbc:oracle:thin:@server:1521/tririga

(note the '/' instead of a colon). I am getting a connection test failure, but outside the installer i can manually connect with the username/password without issue.

Since my last install I have moved from Oracle 11g to 12c, so I have never gone through a TRIRIGA upgrade since this change.

Any ideas why my connection test is failing? And if it is because of the colon instead of the '/' - how do I work around this inside the installer?

It has to be included....Oracle 12c R2 is about to be released and it will not support standalone databases at all.

Support for this, and Oracle 12c R2 is tentatively planned for our next release that is scheduled to come out at the end of this year.  Until our next GA release, 12c with PDB is not supported and will not work.

instead of tridata, enter c##tridata as the user during the installation. I think that might solve the issue.

the problem I have is that the tridata user is not in the container, but in the pluggable database which only supports service name connection and not SID. Is there a way to update/change the installer to allow for service name?

TRIRIGA does not support 12c with PDB.  Please reinstall Oracle de-selecting the PDB option in the Oracle install.

There is an RFE for 12c clustering support, that would use the same URL Format used by the PDB - AKA connection by service name support: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=61512

Vote if you would like to see that included in a future release.  refer to the Compatability matrix: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=61512 for the statement on support of container databases.

Thanks for the info, I can tell you that everything with my PDB is working well now (pre-upgrade), I actually haven't had any problems since the full install of WebSphere allows you to modify the jdbc url in the connection settings (JDBC \ data sources \ "Common and required data source properties" \ URL). So making the switch to 11g to 12c was actually quite simple - I literally just added the '/' to the url and I was done. Sorry if I am kicking a dead horse here, but besides waiting for the end of the year update, is there anyway modify the installer to use the '/' instead of the ':' (or otherwise modify the test connection url) - this would allow me to update to 3.5.1 without waiting.

I would like to use my existing IBM Tririga platform 3.5.2. and applicaton 10.5.2 with oracle 12.1.0.2.

However; I am getting error. I have changed my server.xml to point to the pluggable database:

2017-09-06 11:05:16,222 ERROR [com.tririga.web.servlet.SpringWebInitServlet](Default Executor-thread-6) ERROR BeansException initializing Spring Application Context
