Pinned topic manual Mode

‏2015-11-20T11:39:04Z | critrsrcprotmethod manual

Hello,

I want to know if the manual mode (samctrl -M T) also has influence on the bahavior in case of a Cluster Split, e.g. the Reboot of a node with CritRsrcProtMethod = 1 defined and Resources with ProtectionMode = 1?

Regards

    Hello Ruediger,

the scope of the 'ManualMode' is only the 'resource automation', but not the protection of critical resources.

If the domain/cluster is set to ManualMode (samctrl -M T), then

-> resources will not be re-started or started on another node, and requests will not be performed. Resource monitors continue to run.

-> critical resource protection is still in place, a node with online critical resources (ProtectionMode=1) will be rebooted in case the Quorum is lost
