I recently had this requirement and was able to use an EGL External type using JavaScript, and a JSP to achieve upload of images. Or implementation uses a form and file input fields to submit to a jsp. The JSP calls an EGL service which posts the uploaded file to a database encoded in base64. Sounds like it would be a similar implementation for files.

    Hi JBASkeen,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

My problem is a little different. I have to upload to physical files (gif, pdf, word, etc. ) that are on the client and move them on the server. I don't need to write in database because then the server where I already have an application that write on the DB2.

Then i must simply take the documents from the client and write it on the server.

Now the procedure works if the documents that reads the client are in a shared space on the server. Then all (Appserver and documents) must be on the server machine.

In any case i would be curious to see your external type , the Javascript and the JSP that i can give some idea.
