Pinned topic RPE is driving me crazy too

‏2013-05-31T04:37:45Z |

hello -

I would like to launch RPE via Citrix and would like to turn off the Help -

tried everywhere I know off to look to no avail -

here is a sample command line wit some switches - is there a way to make Help NOT appear ?

a) from the command line itself

b) from a config file inside the RPE installation

"%RPE_HOME%\launcher\rpe-launcher.exe" -publish <xY path> -noresult

I tried the Windows, Preference, Help, Content...path within the RPE Launcher, but that is a per user setting as far as I can tell, that woul dwork if all users could login independantly and make those settings.... but, thats not very efficient

TIA

Werner

    Hey Werner,

Where does the help appear in your execution? I can't think of any scenario where the help pops-up in RPE without an explicit user action to open it.

      Hi Werner,

By default RPE uses the remote (online) help. But in your environment RPE is set to use a local help and it attempts to connect and update the local help. If you want to revert to using the remote help, you can change this setting in the Preferences > Help > Content, by disabling the Local entry and enable the remote RPE Help.

Note that there is a configuration step in the RPE installer that allows you to select the Help location, by default it is set to use the remote location. Given that you use Citrix, this will impact all users. Was RPE installed by changing the settings regarding Help during installation?
