Pinned topic DB2 Timestamp

‏2013-10-23T13:43:57Z |

When using RDz concurrently with Data Studio, is there a way to set Data Studio to reflect TIMESTAMP rows to be the DB2 equivalent?

DB2 on TSO timestamp stored as : 2013-10-22-19.33.54.017374

Data Studio Returns : 2013-10-22 19.33.54.017374

The space seems to cause issues when exporting the result set to excel, for some reason excel can't seem to deal with the space, even with the comma delimited data set (there is no comma in the space, but excel still sticks it into a different cell).

Let me know you thoughts.

Joe

    Hi Joe,

You are right,  the timestamp returned by DS is a slight different than that sotred in DB2.

Your problem should be resolved in the next DS release,  from Version 4.1.0.1(will be released recently) , DS support to export the result set to Microsoft XLS file, and I've tried exporting timestamp data to a XLS file, the exported data in the XLS file are well formatted.

    Below steps for your reference:

    1. Select the connection from Aadministration Explorer View, in AE view toolbar,  click icon "New SQL script", the SQL Editor will be opened for the selected connection.

    2. In the SQL Editor, input a statement to select timestamp data from a table, then click Run button. the Results will be displayed in the SQL Results View,  select tab Result1, then select Export -> Current Result from the context menu(pls refer to below pic), in the popup dialog, specify a name for the export file and set the Format as Excel File(*.xls), click FInish button.  In the exported XLS file, you should find the timestamp data are well formatted.
