Pinned topic Trash cans in Social Cloud

Hello - customer has noticed unclear indications about trash items across the cloud apps.  Biggest question is - does anything get deleted from the trash cans automatically, and if so is there some guidance on how long before something gets deleted?

I created the table below to help illustrate the confusion

Communities

Trash verbiage:  Lists deleted communities before they are permanently removed. To prevent a community that you own from being removed, click Restore.

No indication of permanent deletion schedule

No trash

Comm Wikis

 

Trash can verbiage:  Trash contains pages removed from the wiki.  Can be restored or deleted. 

No indication of automatic removal of deleted pages.

Comm Blogs

 

No trash can for deleted entries - once deleted it is gone

Comm Activities

Nothing available in Comm Activities view, however a deleted community activity does appear in owner's list of deleted activities in the independent app.  Can restore from there.

In the trash can no verbiage:  there is the option to restore deleted entries; 

No option for permanent removal. 

No indication of automatic removal of deleted entries.

 

Comm Files

 

In the trash can no verbiage; there is the option to delete or restore. 

No indication if files will be removed automatically after a period of time.

Comm Forums

 

No trash can for forums

No trash can for forum entries

 

 

 

Activities

Trash verbiage:  Lists deleted activities before they are permanently removed. To prevent an activity that you own from being removed, click More > Restore.

No indication of when they will be permanently removed

In the Trash Can:  Only option is to restore deleted entries;

No option for permanent removal. 

No indication of automatic removal of deleted entries.

Files

 

In the trash can no verbiage; there is the option to delete or restore a file. 

No indication if files will be removed automatically after a period of time.
